Austin Lewter and Curtis Crofford met at a party one night in mid 2002. Austin was in the process of trying to form a second chance band with then front man Damien Booth. Curtis expressed an interest in playing bass.

He auditioned the next week and, within two weeks, the trio hired lead player Brandon Parsons and back-up singer Cindy B. Thus the combo Sandusky Road was formed.

Seven months and three lead players later, the band broke up due to personal issues between some of the members. As such, Curtis then started playing around the Denton, TX area and Austin joined The Lil' Jesse Blues band and spent a year jamming blues with Lil' Jesse Moreno and Daniel Cagle.

During this time, Austin and childhood friend Josh Hamm began proving themselves as forceful songwriting partners. When the originals started stacking up, the two called in Curtis and longtime friend Richard Tipton: two weeks later Flat Foot Larry was formed.

Flat Foot Larry stayed busy for about 6 or 7 months when they decided FFL was truly missing something just in time to run into one of Austin's great friends Cory Timmons (a.k.a. "Monk Stone").

FFL practiced with Monk and after a couple of weeks they hit the road once again.

In December 2005 the band had its first breakup with

Josh leaving on mutual terms due to conflict of interest. So FFL hit the garage hard once again to pick up the pieces.

Austin also stays busy playing drums for the Daniel Cagle Band and the RodeyHoe Band, while Curtis is a full time student in Dallas.

As of late Flat Foot Larry has reverted back a bit with Monk leaving us and a surprise return of Damien Booth (a.k.a. "D") creating an acoustic tone durability like no other. Curtis, Austin and Richard also appear behind Gainesville, TX singer/ songwriter Amber Evins as often as possible.

Though the tour schedule has been light recently, the group is currently writing songs and planning the debut album to be released in 2007.

The combo prides themselves on originality and instrumental versatility. Both individually and as a group, FFL has done shows with Eleven Hundred Springs, Kevin Deal, Fritz Schultz, Amber Evins, The Crepe Souls, Stormy, The Silver Nickel Band, Austin Cunningham, Michael O' Neal, and Max Stalling.
